Research
I have considerable experience in researching health-related topics, applying different methodologies depending on the nature of the project.
Systematic literature reviews
I have conducted systematic reviews on a variety of topics, most recently a series of reviews to inform updates of the Clinical practice guidelines: Pregnancy care. I am practiced in developing search strategies, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria and assessing the quality of a body of evidence, including critical appraisal of study design, risk of bias, consistency, directness and precision. I am experienced in tabulating information about studies, grading evidence and developing evidence statements based on this assessment. I am familiar with both NHMRC and GRADE processes for assessing the certainty of the evidence.
Environmental scans
I have carried out environmental scans on numerous health issues to support the development or revision of guidelines, policy reviews and strategies.
Qualitative research
I have also been involved in qualitative research, including developing questionnaires and analysing responses.
